I have noticed a lot of employers require me to fill out an application for a summer job. Should I still attach my resume? Any tips for filling out applications?

You can still attach your resume, just be sure information on the two documents match up. When applying in person, bring essential information such as past supervisor names, full addresses, salary history, and specific dates of employment.

Editor's Note: For the semester, The Mirror will chronicle Laura Lovinger's life as she moves from college life into the real world. Laura graduated from Drury in May 2009 and is currently living in Germany. Even one year out of college, I feel that I can reflect wisely upon my personal experience over the previous four years.

Despite the recent painting of the panthers at the gate off of Chestnut Expressway, pranks on this campus are fairly infrequent. That was not always the case, though. From Drury's founding in 1873 up into the 1960s, pranks were a staple of college life. Dozens of white mice were released during chapel; a small car was taken apart and then reassembled on the third floor of Burnham Hall; class flags were hung on the steeple of Stone Chapel; the fountain in front of McCullagh Cottage was drained of water, filled with kerosene, and set afire.
This, coupled with the frustration of all student emails urging me not to support the proposed changes to the program, persuaded me to do a little research on the topic.
In response to Mr. Sickendick's column from last week, "C-Street Struggles," I would like to share some positive thoughts on the current state of Drury's relationship with the recovering business district. As a member of Drury University SIFE, I have been working closely with business owners and merchants on the street to help create a unique identity that is both welcoming to Drury students and the local community.
