Oscar gets biggest audience since 2005

Sunday night's Academy Awards broadcast captured the biggest audience for Walt Disney Co.'s ABC network in five years, the company reported Monday. "Fast national" ratings show 41.3 million viewers tuned in for the 3-hour-plus telecast, in which the small independent film "The Hurt Locker" beat box-office monster "Avatar" for the best-picture prize and captured five other awards.

Editor's Note: For the semester, The Mirror will chronicle Laura Lovinger's life as she moves from college life into the real world. Balancing Access Missouri

After reading last week's Mirror article regarding Access Missouri, I began questioning this push to "protect" the funding for students attending private institutions in Missouri. This, coupled with the frustration of all student emails urging me not to support the proposed changes to the program, persuaded me to do a little research on the topic.
