SGA allocates fees, debates campus smoking proposal

Student Government Association (SGA) senators debated the support of a campus smoking ban at their regularly scheduled general assembly meeting last Thursday. The ban was proposed by the staff advisory council, a group organized last year to facilitate communication among staff and university administration.

Drury SIFE finishes third in nation

Drury University's Students in Free Enterprise (SIFE) team finished third overall at today's National Exposition in Dallas, Texas. La Sierra University of Riverside, Calif. and the University of Arizona, took first and second places, respectively. Heritage University also competed in the final four, finishing just past Drury.

Board of Trustees to debate domestic partner benefits plan

The Board of Trustees is set to consider a new domestic partner benefits policy at their semi-annual meeting on May 10 and 11. If the policy is passed by the Board of Trustees, same-sex couples will receive the same benefits package from the university that married couples currently receive.

Virtual child aims to develop parenting skills

First it was an egg, then a sack of flour, then a doll with a microchip, but today the "baby" that is used to teach students about the process of parenting has gone virtual. This semester, students in Kathy Coy's Lifespan Development class used a new product called the Virtual Child.
