Men take title, women finish second

It was supposed to be harder this time, but the Drury Panthers swim team made their fourth consecutive NCAA Division II national championship look like a practice meet. Drury became just the second school to ever win four straight NCAA-II swimming titles on the men's side.

Habitat for Humanity fundraiser encourages student's creative side

After a successful fundraiser last year, the Drury University chapter of Habitat for Humanity has decided to sponsor its 2nd annual Birdhouse Fundraiser. The theme for this year's fundraiser is, "Good housing is not just for the birds." Money raised from the auction will go towards the Habitat for Humanity Drury chapter to help fund the sustainable habitat house or towards future habitat houses.

Animal rights gains ground in law schools

Dogs, cats and creatures of all sorts are being redefined in an emerging area of legal practice known as animal law. Once considered mere property, animals are being invested with legal standing as they're increasingly being named as partial beneficiaries of estates, subjects of lawsuits and victims of abuse.

Kappa Delta's Shamrock Week events to kick off March 31 - April 4

Drury's Kappa Delta sorority chapter will be hosting Shamrock Week next week, March 31 - April 4. Shamrock Week is a fundraiser for Kappa Delta's national philanthropy, Prevent Child Abuse America, which helps to raise awareness about child abuse in the United States and ways it can be prevented, and its local philanthropy, Isabel's House: Crisis Nursery.

Senior Barri Bulla named Carl Albert Fellow at Oklahoma University

Senior Barri Bulla, a political science major, has been named a Carl Albert Fellow at Oklahoma University. The Carl Albert Center at Oklahoma University offers this five-year competitive fellowship leading to a Ph. D. in political science. Bulla was one of just two students to be selected for the fellowship.

Drury's STAND chapter to hold first meeting in Findlay Student Center

Students at Drury University have recently started a STAND chapter on campus and will hold the first meeting of the group on Wed., March 26 at 4 p.m. in the Findlay Student Center's Presidential Dining Room. STAND is a student anti-genocide coalition which aims at stopping genocide, primarily in Darfur.
