Two fraternities face suspension, hard alcohol has been banned from campus and 15 students face criminal charges as the fallout from the events of Bid Day continues. President Todd Parnell released a statement Tuesday afternoon outlining the University's response to Bid Day events.
Fans of "The Price is Right" will have the opportunity to "come on down" and see Bob Barker at the dedication of his namesake boulevard on Friday. Plans for Bob Barker Boulevard materialized several months ago, when Springfield resident Kitty Lipscomb suggested the name change in honor of Barker.
Fifteen people, including several Drury students, were charged Friday by the Stone County prosecutor with possession of alcohol as a result of the off-campus Bid Day party that landed Drury freshman Nathan Lipps in the hospital with alcohol poisoning. All fifteen individuals range from 18-20 years of age.

It's official. The Springfield Police Department has moved on to Drury's campus. The Springfield City Council voted unanimously Mon., Sept. 15 to add a police substation to the university, which will be located in the College Park Community Center. Patrolmen Mark Sears and Eric Schroeder have already begun their rounds on Drury's campus.
While May still seems like months away, graduating seniors already need to be looking ahead. Seniors have some steps to take before they are eligible to graduate in the spring, associate registrar Tim Posey said. Certain requirements, including applying to graduate and meeting with Posey for a degree audit, must be completed by the end of October.
After all the visits Drury students have made to Volos, Greece since 2002, it's now Alkis Tsolakis', the founding director of the Drury University Center in Volos, turn to see the other side of the world. Tsolakis will be visiting Drury's campus starting Sept.
The brothers of the Lambda Chi Alpha fraternity are holding their fifth annual Watermelon Fest this Friday, Sept. 26 to raise food for the All-Ozarks Food Harvest. The field events will be held on Sunderland Field at 5 p.m. and feature tug of war, seed spitting, a watermelon toss, relays, an eating contest, and over under race events.
This Thursday's convocation will feature 1999 graduate Dr. Jack L. Conrad, a postdoctoral fellow in the Department of Vertebrate Paleontology, division of paleontology at the American Museum of Natural History. The convocation is co-sponsored by the Drury Office of Alumni and Development.
The Drury debate team tied for third after rounds on Saturday and placed fifth overall at William Jewell College last weekend. Dr. Curt Gilstrap, debate advisor and coach, said in an e-mail this was "an excellent finish given the fact that we were the smallest team in the top five.
The pre-law program at Drury is hosting Dennis Donahue, one of the foremost experts on Intellectual Property law from the St. Louis firm of Husch, Blackwell and Sanders this Thursday. Mr. Donahue will be meeting with Drury students from all disciplines on the many career options and different areas that connect with intellectual property.
